Covering America
My book is titled Covering America: A Narrative History of U.S. Journalism, 1704-2004. It tells the story of the last 300 years of the news business in the United States, focussing on newspapers and magazines, then radio, television, and the Internet as outlets for news.
It is under contract to UMass Press and is should be published in traditional print format in late 2007 or early 2008, if all goes well.
Drafts of some of the chapters are posted here on this website. I am putting these up for comment and feedback, and as a basis for discussion. You can print them out to read them, but they must not be copied or used in any other way without permission from me (Chris Daly). To let others know about them, just send a link to this website.
